After going through a few title changes (including Malavita and Badfellas, coming from Tonino Benacquista‘s novel that it’s based on), producers have finally settled on the relatively bland label of The Family for the next film from helmer Luc Besson. Marking his first directorial crime-drama in many years, the first trailer has now landed today.

Led by Robert De Niro, the film follows the Manzonis, a notorious mafia family who gets relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program, but soon revert to their old ways. Perhaps the biggest interest we’ve had thus far is Martin Scorsese’s involvement in a producing and editing aspect and this trailer has a bit of an odd, but perhaps entertaining tone, mixing comedy with all-out action. Check it out below, along with the poster, for the film also starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones and Dianna Agron.

The Family arrives on September 20th.
