After premiering on the fall festival circuit, at both Venice and Toronto, one film that seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle is A Promise. Directed by Patrice Leconte, the period drama stars Rebecca Hall (The Town, Transcendence) who is in a distraught marriage with Alan Rickman, only to begin a love affair with Richard Madden, of Game of Thrones fame.
While the film is still without U.S. distribution, it will land in France in April and for the occasion, a new international trailer has landed. Based on Stefan Zweig‘s novel Journey Into the Past, the Germany-set film doesn’t look to do anything particularly unique in the genre, but perhaps it’ll be worth a watch. Check out the trailer below thanks to TheMovieBox.
