Seemingly coming out of nowhere, next month will bring the release of Pawn Shop Chronicles, the latest drama from The Cooler helmer Wayne Kramer, who last gave us Crossing Over and Running Scared. The Southern-set drama sees him reteam with Paul Walker, who is part of an varied ensemble.
Also including Norman Reedus, Vincent D’Onofrio, Lukas Haas, Thomas Jane, Elijah Wood, Matt Dillon, DJ Qualls, Brendan Fraser, Rachelle Lefevre and Ashlee Simpson, the film follows lowlifes at our titular place of business and the action kicks in when a wedding ring goes missing. This first trailer makes it seems like a bit of a hot mess, but I certainly appreciate over-the-top Kramer when compared to his heavy-handed last film.
