Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title have produced some successful British rom coms, Notting Hill and the ensemble piece Love Actually among them. The group is adding to their list with I Give It A Year, though this selection should prove a bit raunchier thanks to the contribution of Borat screenwriter Dan Mazer.

If the first trailer for the film is any indication, there’s no shortage of cheeky humor, much of it doled out liberally by Stephen Merchant’s delightful sleaze. Directed by Mazer, the story follows the ambitious Nat (Rose Byrne, in her first lead role) and laid back novelist Josh (Rafe Spall), a newlywed couple closing in on their first anniversary. The two are happy despite their differences, but family and friends make them question whether they should be together. Also complicating matters is the appearance of Josh’s ex-girlfriend, Chloe (Anna Faris), and Nat’s handsome American client Guy (Simon Baker).

A new trailer reveals even more inappropriate moments, the most memorable of which comes from Minnie Driver, who plays an unhappily married woman with an unnatural attraction to Justin Bieber. See trailer via Empire below:

The premise seems a tad formulaic – the anal, careerist wife and the man child husband – but with such a talented comedic cast, it could offer a few choice laughs. I Give It Year hits theaters on Feb. 8th in the UK.
