In a summer full of sci-fi entries, its a bit peculiar that Roland Emmerich‘s latest action vehicle involves no extraterrestrial forces, but it at least still features explosions at the White House. Set to land at the end of this month, we already got a couple of trailers for White House Down, but Sony Pictures is throwing everything they can at our computer screens with an online-exclusive four-minute preview.

Following Channing Tatum as a Secret Service agent interviewee, who must protect the President (Jamie Foxx) at all costs. This trailer sells more of Tatum’s comedy riffing and some mediocre visual effects, but hopefully Emmerich can deliver convincing large-scale, entertaining spectacle. Check it out below for the film also starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins and James Woods.

Synopsis:

Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

White House Down opens on June 28th.
