Only days after his co-host gig with Alec Baldwin at the Academy Awards, comedian/writer/actor Steve Martin will replace Dustin Hoffman in The Big Year, a comedy revolving around a competitive bird-watching competition tournament and three men out to win. The three men will be played by Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox is Wes Anderson’s best film since The Royal Tenenbaums. It features his usual shtick including the array of eccentric characters, scene chewing dialog, and being shot on a level of pure beauty. This is an instantly charming, hilarious, and highly entertaining film that bursts with originality.
Mr. Fox (George Clooney) is a thief, he’s the of the best. From stealing chickens to knocking out dogs with poisoned blue berries, he loves the adrenaline rush. Unfortunately, he has to give all that up once his wife Mrs. Fox (Meryl Streep) becomes pregnant. Once he hangs up the old trade he’s now just a regular old Fox. Making dues as a writer, living the normal family life, and none of this involves his favorite thing: stealing. But once he moves into a new tidy tree home he’s found a thief’s delight. Sitting right across his street is three large factories that include a sweet apple beverage, plenty of meet, and loads of chickens. This is where Mr. Fox turns back to his old ways to pull off one of the biggest heists in Fox History. From then on, it becomes all out warfare between Mr. Fox and the three crazed company owners. Variety reports director of American Pie and About A Boy, Paul Weitz is in talks to direct the 3rd installment of the Meet The Parents series, Little Fockers. Production will begin in July with Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner all set to return. John Hamburg (I Love You, Man) is rewriting a script based of Larry Stuckey’s original version. Jay Roach and Jane Rosenthal are returning as producers.
As reported on Worst Previews, Bruce Willis is being sued $4 million for signing a $200,000 contract to direct Three Stories About Joan, a film starring Owen Wilson and Camilla Belle (Push). Apparently, Willis quit what was supposed to be his directorial debut due to personal reasons.
The production company suing the actor is Foresight Unlimited (ironic name considering the circumstances no?), and filed with the L.A. Superior Court on Friday.
Here’s the intended plot of the film, courtesy of Worst Previews: “[the film] centers on a young woman at three points in her life and the family tragedies that cause her to lose her grip on reality.”
What do you think about this? Do you think Willis had legitimate reasons for leaving?
Today we have a new poster for Shawn Levy’s sequel to Night at the Museum. Check it out below:
I thought the trailer was surprisingly funny. Check it out below via TrailerAddict:
The original Night at the Museum was enjoyable. The addition of Amy Adams, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Steve Coogan, Hank Azaria, and Christopher Guest should prove to be a fun summer flick when it goes up against Terminator Salvation on May 22nd, 2009.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D (Jan 16th)
Synopsis: After surviving a fatal accident that claimed the lives of five of men in a mine shaft, Harry Warden performed a horrific killing spree on Valentines night in the town of Harmony, killing 22 people before he was shot to death.
Why You Should See It: Early screening reports have said there is more sex, limbs, and buckets of blood than one can handle. The 3-D gimmick is the only reason this is on my list. If implemented right it should be a great time at the movies.
Some LA’er found a special spoiler surprise today when walking around and was nice enough to take some pictures. I’m kind of looking forward to the film. I’m partial to Owen Wilson and dogs. My mother read the book and absolutely loved it so I think I will take her to this Christmas Day, after The Curious Case of Benjamin Button of course.
