After wading in serious territory with Defiance, Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai, director Edward Zwick is returning to rom-coms after his last effort with About Last Night…. in 1986. Love and Other Drugs stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria, Josh Gad, and Gabriel Macht. The trailer is pretty funny and it’s nice to see Gyllenhaal/Hathaway together again after Brokeback Mountain. Check out the trailer below via Apple. Read the full story

Those lovable blue munchkins from your childhood memory have returned to haunt you in CG form, just like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Scooby-Doo and (sigh) Garfield did. But for whatever reason, I’m cautiously optimistic about the Smurfs movie because this newly released image doesn’t look that terrible. Seems like they’ve nailed character design to remain authentic to the original cartoon Les Schtroumpfs created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo.Plus with Hank Azaria fitting the role of Gargamel perfectly, we may have a winning combination folks. Then again, the plot synopsis from the USA Today article that debuted the image is a bit more worrisome. Read the full story

Year One is a hit-or-miss comedy that almost skids by due to distinct character work and the satirical tone. Director Harold Ramis once delivered a string of comedy classics, from Caddyshack to Vacation to Groundhog Day. Unfortunately, this does not live up to that standard by any means.
The film follows two best friends named Zed and Oh, played by Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda) and Michael Cera (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) respectively, who are both outcasts in their tribe. Zed is the clumsy hunter who wants to do more with his life while Oh is a gatherer who is fine with his path, only wishing he could be with the girl he loves. After being banished from their tribe, the two head off on a new adventure that takes them to places they have never imagined. On their journey they discover new inventions and odd characters that help them a long their trip. After a series of mishaps, including becoming slaves, they must battle to protect the woman they desire in the middle of distressful situations.
