Jamie Foxx To Play Schizo-Killer in ‘Kane and Lynch’?

Lynch is the psycho killer, for those who haven’t played the video game, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, being adapted for the screen by screenwriter Kyle Ward. Ward announced, via Twitter, that Foxx was in to play Lynch, presumably alongside Bruce Willis as Kane, who was announced on to the project a while back.

The video revolves around “a mercenary who makes an unlikely alliance with the schizophrenic killer named James Lynch. The duo is forced on a mission to retrieve a stolen microchip.” [Coming Soon].

It doesn’t sound like the most original video game/film premise ever, but Willis with Foxx has to be better than Willis with Tracy Morgan. Right guys? Right?

Right?

Are you excited for a ‘Kane and Lynch’ movie? Can it break the video game film curse?

[Review] Cop Out

Who doesn’t like Kevin Smith? He’s a good writer and even a solid director. For years he’s continued to deliver a heap of solid work, Clerks and Chasing Amy being his best. Where does Cop Out rank amongst his body of work? Not too high. It may not come close his best work, but this is still an enjoyable parody that pokes fun at 80’s cliches and conventions. Why Kevin Smith’s ‘Cop Out’ Will Succeed

Since the initial release of the trailer back in December people all across the blogosphere have been attacking Kevin Smith’s latest film Cop Out for a whole host of different reasons. Whether it be nit picking the fact that Smith’s name isn’t on the trailer, which as Smith himself defended (his name is never on ANY of his trailers). Or the fact that people say the movie looks like a stupid, watered down action comedy. It has become clear, at least to this writer, that people have lost sight of what this movie is: Kevin Smith’s attempt at a studio picture. There are some things that need to be addressed. Summit_280x236

Variety has published a story that Summit Entertainment’s Red, starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren , is set to move forward and will be released on October 22, 2010. Based on the Warren Ellis graphic novel of the same name, Red also stars Mary-Louise Parker, John C. Reilly, Brian Cox, Ernest Borgnine, and Richard Dreyfuss (how about those last two?) and is directed by Robert Schwentke and scripted by Jon and Erich Hoeber, the former who previously directed The Time Traveler’s Wife, and the latter duo last scripted Whiteout. Producing are Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, who last produced (drum roll please) Transformers 2. The movie is currently in pre-production and according to IMDb will start filming January 11, 2010, although that date could very well change. Read the full story
