With Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning for Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel sequel, it’s no question that Warner Bros. will be shaking things up a bit. Following the news that Ben Affleck would take on the role of Batman, many were shocked when Jesse Eisenberg came aboard as Lex Luthor, with Jeremy Irons in tow as Alfred, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. We’ve now got a few more to add to the pile, and one to take away.

First, Russell Crowe will not be reprising his role as Jor-El. “I don’t think they’re going to use me again,” he told Yahoo while on the Noah press circuit. “I think they’re jumping onto a different stream. You know, they’re going with the different superhero worlds colliding.” However, WB announced today that Holly Hunter (Top of the Lake, Broadcast News), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire, Zero Dark Thirty) and Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) will be joining the ensemble.

While the studio isn’t revealing their exact roles — only that they are “characters newly created for the film” — Mulvey was previously rumored for a villain role. Snyder says, “Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses; she has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her.”

When it comes to Okamoto, he added, “Tao is a striking presence whose beauty is aptly rivaled by her amazing abilities as an actress. I’m really excited to have her joining us on this adventure.” With a script by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, the film will open on May 6th, 2016.
