After 12 years in production, the best film of the year thus far is now finally in theaters. Richard Linklater‘s Boyhood opened in five locations last weekend and will be expanding to more today and throughout the summer (see the full schedule here). While our interviews with the director and his leading star, Ellar Coltrane, provide an in-depth look at the process of how the film came to be, today we’re diving deeper into the production.

While touring the country to discuss the movie Linklater and his cast have participated in a handful of great discussions and we’ve rounded all the notable ones up below. Amounting to over eleven hours worth of intricate details on how Linklater came up with the idea, what it was like shooting for a small period every year, how the story interweaves with Coltrane’s own life, and much, much more, they are well worth checking out after you’ve seen the film. See all the extended interviews below, along with an alternate poster, and return as more become available.
