Ahead of it’s premiere at Venice Film Festival in just a few days, we’ve now got the first clip from Terry Gilliam‘s The Zero Theorem, which sees Christoph Waltz headed to work in a bustling, vibrant landscape that could only come from the mind of this director. Speaking with EW, Gilliam discussed the film, saying “I think it paints a stark picture of where we are right now. The future has come and met us, we actually don’t live in the present anymore, we live in the future because it’s happening so quickly.”

He adds, “It’s really about the world we’re living in and being connected. When, as an individual, can we be alone in a connected world like this? Those are the things that intrigue me.” There’s no embed yet for the first clip, but one can click the image below to head over to the site, which also has some text commentary tied to the scene. We’ve also included new images from the film which includes part of our ensemble, made up of Tilda Swinton, Matt Damon, David Thewlis, Ben Whishaw, Peter Stormare, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Melanie Thierry.
