We all know that Benjamin Walker was cast as Beast in the upcoming X-Men: First Class right? Apparently he was fired from the role only to be rehired, reports The Playlist. Based on a report from The Daily Mail, Walker was fired from the role due to his age. He was thought to be too old to be one of the students since he was already 28. I can see how this is a valid claim since McAvoy, who plays Professor X is only 31 and Fassbender who is 33 plays Magneto.

Apparently after Fox kicked him out they screened a few other candidates. After the screenings they decided that Walker was still so the best choice so they are getting ready to offer him the role again. There is no word on if Walker will take it though. As of now, the role of Beast has yet to be filled.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 2011.
