It looks like Universal will try anything they can with marketing after a string of domestic disappointments (Green Zone, Wolfman, Robin Hood and MacGruber). Their next film, Get Him To The Greek will have a brand new trailer for Edgar Wright‘s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World attached.

In a new viral marketing scheme Wright announced today on Twitter that if the Facebook page for Scott Pilgrim reaches 100,000 fans then Universal will release the trailer. Want to spread the word? Look no further.

1. Head over the Facebook Page and “Like It”

2. Click “Suggest To Friends”

3. Click “Filter Friends”, Then Select a Network

4. Click “Select All” Then “Send Invitations.”

5. Repeat Steps 2-5 until all networks have been invited.

As of this posting we are about 34,000 fans away from seeing the brand new trailer so spread the word!

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World hits theaters August 13th.
