While Shawn Levy is already deep into production on his next comedy The Internship, it looks like the casting has yet to be completed. The film sees the reunion of the Wedding Crashers trio Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell, but now some major talent has come aboard — but not of the acting kind.

After recently winning four gold medals in the 2012 London Olympics, swimmer Missy Franklin confirmed this morning on the Today Show (via Zap2It) that she recently booked a cameo for the film and said that she’s “so excited about it.” Unfortunately no details on exactly who she’ll play, as she added, “you’re gonna have to wait and see!” Franklin will be joined by  Rose Byrne, Max Minghella, Josh Gad, John Goodman, Aasif Mandvi and Eric Andre in the film that sees Vaughn and Wilson as two forty-somethings who lose their jobs and find themselves interning for Google.

While The Internship opens on June 28th, 2013, we’ve also got news on another comedy that will likely feature Vaughn. While on press rounds for The Watch in the UK the actor sat down with Empire (via Digital Spy), where he hinted that we’ll likely be seeing his rival newscaster character of Wes Mantooth returning for Anchorman 2.. He said, “The chances are better than not that Wes Mantooth will be” coming back for Adam McKay’s sequel and even joked that Angela Lansbury could possibly fit the role of Dorothy Mantooth, his saint of a mother.

While we don’t have a release date yet (only the vague 2013), hopefully we see the rest of the rival newscasters returning including Luke Wilson and Ben Stiller and of course, our gang of Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate.

Are you looking forward to both of Vaughn’s upcoming comedies?
