For most movie and video game fans, even mentioning the name Uwe Boll leads to an instant negative reaction, akin to vomiting and rocking back and forth in a fetal position. The German director has become infamous to buying up video game properties, like Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark, and turning them into nearly unwatchable dreck with few exceptions (I’ll defend Postal if I have to, please don’t let it come to that). And now Boll has added a new video game to his hit list.

Bloody Disgusting reports that he has obtained the rights to Zombie Massacre, a 1998 computer game released for Commodore’s Amgia computer that was a total and complete Doom knock-off. But there is some good news for the few fans of the game who are afraid Boll is going to completely ruin it: he will not be directing. Instead, he’s having Marco Ristori and Luca Boni take the helm; the duo previously directed the Boll-produced Eaters, an Italian zombie movie that doesn’t seem to be particularly well-liked. Nevermind, that news may not be so good after all.

Cameras have yet to roll on Zombie Massacre, but Boll and company have released a sales poster looking to drum up interest in the unsuspecting populace who may have never seen one of his movies. Here’s what it looks like:

And for those of you who haven’t played Zombie Massacre before, which should be a good chunk of you since this game seems relatively obscure, check out some gameplay footage below. They don’t even try to make it any different from Doom, it’s kind of sad.

Any interest in a Zombie Massacre movie? Did said interest wain when you saw who was producing it?
