Well, here it is. You’re getting the continued tales of Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross, Snow White and the Huntsman and whatever those two characters were named in that movie that was like Due Date starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. You are getting them, whether you like it or not.

So says Universal chairman Adam Fogelson, speaking with THR. The young exec talked with the magazine about everything from not having a strong franchise (or billion-dollar grossing film) in their arsenal to not-quite regretting that now-aborted deal with Hasbro to trying to get that Fifty Shades of Grey movie off the ground. “It’s conceivable that we could be ready to release it as early as next summer,” he went on to say about the adaptation of EL James’ hit novel, which means not too much at all in the grand scheme of news that’s fit to print.

Along with confirming that Huntsman director Rupert Sanders is “not persuing” directing the sequel, Fogelson did acknowledge that the project is moving forward. He also re-upped on continued industry faith in Tom Cruise even after the lukewarm Jack Reacher, citing the liveable budget ($120 million) of the upcoming Oblivion and the creative avenues available with that Van Helsing reboot the star is attached to. Lest we not forget disgraced Huntsman director Sanders has been associated with the the Helsing reboot as well.

What do you think of these updates? Are these projects you have a vested interest in?
