Although Clint Eastwood has been in a major directing slump the last few years, I’m banking on his collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio to pull him out of it. The actor is stepping into the shoes of J. Edgar Hoover, and with these two new posters below, he is clearly the selling point here. I much prefer the bottom one with a little more flair, but both give it the elegant feel one expects for an awards play like this one.
J. Edgar also features Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Donovan, Stephen Root, and Josh Lucas, with a screenplay by award-winning Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black. Check out both posters below, followed by the trailer.
J. Edgar will open in limited release on November 9th, followed by a wide opening on November 11th.
