Speaking to TheWrap, Tina Fey‘s publicist has confirmed that the 30 Rock star who has recently voiced one of the leads in Megamind, is currently in talks to star in Universal’s Admission.

Adapted from the Jean Hanff Korelitz novel of the same name, the film is set to be directed by Paul Weitz. The story revolves around a Princeton admissions officer who gets involved in a relationship with a prospective student who may not have the credentials to get a place at the Ivy League school.

The novel was adapted for screen by Karen Croner, and Weitz is also set to produce through his company, Depth of Field. The film is still in the early stages of production. While 30 Rock has been quite a success, Fey has had time to star in a number of features as of late; most recently Date Night and Baby Mama, as well as a cameo in Ricky GervaisThe Invention of Lying. Weitz, meanwhile, hasn’t had a critical streak, with Little Fockers and Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. Let’s hope this is a return to his About a Boy days.

Have you read the novel? Do you like Fey’s film work?
