Animator, filmmaker, vocal artist, Oscar host — is there any role Seth MacFarlane can’t fill? How about movie cowboy?
MacFarlane — who successfully transitioned to the big screen with his summer comedy Ted — plans to make his live-action directorial debut with A Million Ways to Die in the West. Based on a script he penned with his Ted co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, the Family Guy creator will also star in what’s being described as a “Blazing Saddles-style movie” with contemporary humor. Similar to his anthropomorphic hit, the plot promises to deliver plenty of the “hallmark racy humor” for which MacFarlane and his team are known – in other words, look forward to plenty of raunchy jokes and scatology, possibly of the horse variety. Fans of dirty little CGI teddy bears shouldn’t fear, however – MacFarlane will continue to work on the Universal-backed sequel to Ted, which is still in early stages of development.
A Million Ways to Die in the West is planned for release in summer 2013.
Does A Million Ways to Die in the West sound like another possible hit for MacFarlane?
