Although production has been underway for some time now, Lars von Trier is still tinkering with his full cast for his next project — the erotic drama The Nymphomaniac. With Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Udo Kier, Nicole Kidman, Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen and Jesper Christensen making up the ensemble, we’ve got another addition this morning.

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that Uma Thurman has come aboard the currently shooting project in an unknown role. The actress makes yet another strong addition, marking her first outing with the filmmaker. While I recently enjoyed her in Ceremony, it’s been quite some time since she participated in anything this promising, so I look forward to see what von Trier comes up with for her. In the meantime, check out the official synopsis below:

NYMPHOMANIAC is the light and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-‐diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe.

On a cold winter’s evening Seligman, an old bachelor, finds Joe semi‐unconscious and beaten up in an alleyway. After bringing her to his flat he sees to her wounds while trying to understand how things could have gone so wrong for her. He listens intently as she over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-‐out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.

Expect a 2013 release for the film.

Are you looking forward to Thurman in the ensemble?
