After one leads a major franchise, some actors find it difficult to shed the attachment to a certain character and continue on in their career. Daniel Radcliffe is currently attempting such a feat after the Harry Potter series and now it’s time for the Twilight gang. Robert Pattinson is stepping over boundaries when it comes to projects with David Cronenberg, David Michod and Werner Herzog and now it’s Kristen Stewart‘s turn.
We’ll see her in On the Road later this month, but the actress has now confirmed her first post-Twilight production with the WB film Focus. After being rumored for the role earlier this month, Stewart confirmed her casting with Huffington Post, saying the project is “a comedy” and adding, “I’m really excited about it. We start shooting in April.”
Coming from Crazy, Stupid, Love. helmers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra the film will follow a veteran con man (Affleck) who gets involved with a newcomer (Stewart) to the grifter business. They “get involved romantically but that becomes perilous in a business where they lie and cheat for a living. The complications of the encounter haunt them when they meet up again in the future.”
Expect a late 2013 or 2014 release for the film.
Are you looking forward to Stewart’s next role?
