This morning the nominations for the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild awards rolled in, and while perhaps the expected movie about acting, Birdman, led the way, there were a few surprises on both ends of the spectrum. First up, the much-buzzed Selma was completely shut out, along with A Most Violent Year and, sadly, Inherent Vice. As for who made the cut, a last-ditch awards campaign for Jennifer Aniston seems to have worked, as she was recognized for Cake, while Naomi Watts, somehow, got in for her over-the-top performance in St. Vincent and the lead performances in Gone Girl and Nightcrawler both made the cut.
