Robert Ludlum, whose most popular work accounts for the Bourne Trilogy novels, also produced a series of books called The Covert One. They followed “a team of political and technical experts belonging to a top-secret U.S. Agency called Covert One, who fight corruption and conspiracy at the highest and most dangerous levels of society.”

Pajiba reports that producer/director Frank Marshall (Alive, Congo, Eight Below) is looking to direct the first in what could be a potential series for Universal. They also remind us that Captivate Entertainment is also developing other Ludlum projects such such as The Materese Circle, an Osterman Weekend remake, The Parsifal Mosaic, The Sigma Protocol, The Chancellor Manuscript, and of course, Bourne 4.”

The premise sounds pretty cool, a bunch of Bourne-like figures in one film definitely piques my interest. Marshall has been one of the greatest producers since the ’70’s behind such films as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Back To The Future. He was also a producer on the Bourne trilogy and its no surprise Universal is looking at a similar franchise after most of their recent projects have done quite poorly. I’d love to see him direct this.
