Park Chan-Wook‘s Stoker has peaked our excitement since the moment it was announced, promising a kind of gothic Hitchcockian thriller with a supernatural twist. This was followed by a slew of interesting casting announcements (Nicole Kidman, Dermot Mulroney, Jacki Weaver) and replacements (Mia Wasikowska replaced Carey Mulligan, Matthew Goode replaced Colin Firth), along with Clint Mansell‘s attendance as composer of the film.

And then that trailer only added to our anxiousness, promising an the coldest Kidman we’ve ever seen (is it possible?) and the creepiest Matthew Goode we’ve ever seen (same question).

Now we have the first poster for the picture, an interesting alchemy of artistic styles, something that feels both comfortably homegrown and uncomfortably foreign (via The Playlist):

In addition, Empire (via /Film) have a video which showcases the making of this poster. Be warned, as a few spoilers may exist:

There’s also a full tune from the official soundtrack — “Becomes The Color” by Emily Wells — which can be listened to below:

Stoker opens March 1st, 2013.
