What’s up with first looks of people firing muzzle-flashed machine guns? Well, we have our first official look at Steven Soderbergh‘s upcoming action thriller Haywire and it features just that. Our lead, MMA fighter Gina Carano, seems quite ready to kick ass. She stars with Michael Fassbender as “a black ops super soldier seeking payback after she is betrayed and set up during a mission.”
Soderbergh is planning to make an appearance at Comic-Con this month to show off the first footage as well. The ensemble cast also includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton, Michael Angarano, Matthieu Kassovitz and Antonio Banderas. Check out the image below via Collider and click for his-res.
Synopsis:
In Haywire, an electrifying tale of espionage and betrayal, a female covert ops specialist (Carano), who works in the deadly world of international operatives, strikes back after discovering she’s been double-crossed by someone close to her in the agency.
Haywire hits theaters January 20th, 2012 while Soderbergh’s Contagion will land on September 9th, 2011.
