After sporting a classic Hollywood look for last year’s The Artist, Bérénice Bejo has taken on a very different project for her next feature. As reported over the summer, the actress has stepped in for Marion Cotillard on the next drama from the Academy Award-winning director of A Separation, Asghar Farhadi, and today we’ve got a few new details on the project.
Above one can see the first look at Bejo in the film, with a title now being revealed as The Past. Although no plot details have been given for this “emotional social thriller,” A Prophet star Tahar Rahim leads alongside Bejo and the film has been given a May 2013 debut in France. As expected, that international date all but confirms a Cannes debut for this film, which makes for a perfect launching pad leading to a likely fall 2013 release in the US. [Allocine]
