There’s a handful of actors and actresses that seem tailor-made for Woody Allen‘s style and for his next project, the prolific actor-writer-director-producer will be employing one such talent. According to Variety, Emma Stone is in talks to lead the cast of Allen’s next film.

As usual with his upcoming features little is known about the plot, but the film is set to be shot in Spain this summer, on Allen’s usual schedule. We can expect a great deal of more casting to come our way, as a “large ensemble” is being put together as we speak. Stone is currently shooting Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s dark comedy Birdman in New York City and then will jump to this film before shooting Cameron Crowe‘s next project, followed by Guillermo del Toro’s horror film Crimson Peak.

Audiences can see Woody Allen again this summer, like clockwork, with the release of his San Francisco-set project Blue Jasmine, which sees Cate Blanchett lead alongside another strong ensemble. We’ve got our first look at one of those castmembers as Sony Pictures Classics have released a new still featuring comedian Louis C.K. The actor recently opened to NY Times regarding his character, saying, “He’s just a liar. One of the leads, Sally Hawkins, I’m an episode in her life. I’m one of those awful stories that women carry around. But it’s also romantic in parts, and it’s sweet.” See him below with Hawkins in the new still.

Blue Jasmine arrives in July, while we can expect his next feature to land in the summer of 2014.
