I doubt it would be a true Anchorman sequel without Veronica Corningstone, the love of Ron Burgundy’s life, but some comments from Adam McKay and, more noticeably, two teasers made Christina Applegate‘s return something of a question mark and concern. I mean, honestly: How do you follow-up a perfectly-balanced comedy without one of its main players in tow?
So, it’s a relief that Celebuzz (via Collider) have confirmed Applegate‘s involvement in Anchorman 2, the extent of which I can only assume is about equal to the male members of this cast — especially if McKay‘s small plot hints actually play out onscreen. With her, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Paul Rudd all locked in once again, Anchorman 2 is off to a running start.
Moving from a sequel I have high hopes for to one that couldn’t interest me less, Variety reports that Anne Vyalitsyna (professionally known as “Anne V.”) will make her acting debut in A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth installment in the Die Hard series you completely forgot was even being made. (Her role currently lacks any sort of description. Yours truly thinks it amounts to “eye candy.”) Written by Skip Woods and directed by John Moore (Max Payne), the film has John McClane head to Russia, where he and his estranged son (Jai Courtney) need to save the world together. I wish I could care.
A Good Day to Die Hard will open on February 14th, 2013.
Are you happy to see Applegate make a return? Could this new addition leave any impact on A Good Day to Die Hard?
