If most people were given $10 million, they’d do just about anything — but for a star like Chris Hemsworth he needs to mull over the decision. CBS Films, in one of their biggest moves yet as a young studio, have offered The Avengers star that price tag to lead their action film American Assassin.

Deadline has the details for the film set to be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who has already skillfully pulled off tension in both Homeland and the underseen thriller Traitor. Bruce Willis is already on board to play mentor to agent Mitch Rapp, which hopefully Hemsworth step in as. In Vince Flynn‘s source novel — adapted by original potential director Ed Zwick with Marshall Herskovitz — the once-normal grad student joins the CIA upon the death of his girlfriend, becoming “a man reborn with a mission of retribution.”

As CBS hopes to kick off a franchise with this project, Hemsworth would have to seriously consider his schedule. Locked into the Marvel world with his character of Thor, and The Avengers 2 set to gear up late next year, not to mention the bevy of other projects he is looking at (including Steven Spielberg‘s Robopocalypse), and this star has his plate full. Considering this would provide more of an adult-tinged drama angle in his career, I hope he can find time for it.

Would you like to see Hemsworth lead this project?
