Sure, he’s not Bruce Lee’s son, but he is pretty cute. Bradley Cooper is in negotiations to star in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo‘s remake of The Crow [THR]. The original starred Brandon Lee back in 1994 and has earned a strong cult following over the years. Fresnadillo directed the Danny Boyle-produced 28 Weeks Later, which moves at a clip most other movies can’t keep up with, and he’s got the Clive Owen monster movie Intruders coming out later this year.

Cooper’s been very public in the past about the roles he’d like to play and with the success of Relativity’s Limitless one imagines those roles will come more easily than they have in the past. That said, this one seems like a strange, intriguing departure from Sack in Wedding Crashers, Phil in The Hangover or even Alias nice-guy Will Tippin, which put him on the map.

Production is targeted to start in the fall. Cooper next stars in The Hangover Part II, which opens May 26th.

Could Cooper do The Crow justice?
