It’s been nearly 18 months since The Weinstein Company initially acquired Bong Joon-ho‘s Snowpiercer and amidst the film’s successful international run and quarreling over a final cut, it looks like things have finally settled. We got word earlier this year that the Chris Evans-led dystopian thriller would go unscathed and now confirmation has come in of a release date. TWC has passed the film down to its VOD speciality arm Radius-TWC, who will release it on June 27th in limited theaters, making for a perfect alternative to Transformers 4. For those that don’t live near a major market, you can rest easy, as the company usually puts their releases out on the same day on VOD.

In other release date news, one of Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s final films, God’s Pocket, will hit theaters on May 9th followed by a VOD release the following week. One can see our review of that Sundance drama, also starring Richard Jenkins, Christina Hendricks, and John Turturro here. Lastly, Focus Features will release their Jeremy Renner-led drama Kill the Messenger on October 10th, making for a likely premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. See the first still from that project here.

Are you happy the dust has settled when it comes to Snowpiercer?
