I honestly can’t believe that’s a headline.

Not that I’m ever seeing Grown Ups 2, for the love of Christ, but it’s still so… sad. So, yeah, Taylor Lautner‘s taking a role in the Grown Ups sequel, with THR telling us he’s signed for a “fun” role that, thankfully, allows him to face off against Sandler. A fun role! Imagine that.

He’s the project’s second newcomer; Oliver Cooper (Project X) was cast as “a frat boy-type,” the kind of part I wouldn’t be all too shocked to see Lautner get. (That doesn’t even need to be explained, right? Right.) Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, and Maya Rudolph are all coming back, while Dennis Dugan sits behind a video monitor and orders lunch.

Grown Ups 2 seeps onto screens on July 12th 2013.
