Warner Bros. Pictures unleashed a shiny new trailer for Todd Phillips‘ Due Date today, and it looks absolutely hilarious.
Phillips’ first film since 2009′s highly acclaimed The Hangover, Due Date stars Robert Downey Jr. as Peter Highman, a first-time father whose wife’s due date is only five days away. In a rush to get home in time, Peter encounters Ethan Tremblay, an aspiring actor played by Zach Galifianakis. When Peter’s best efforts to get home to L.A. from Atlanta go awry, he’s left with no choice but to head to the West Coast with Ethan. The resulting cross-country road trip Read the full story

Who doesn’t love a good mockumentary? Whether it’s Spinal Tap, Best in Show, Cloverfield, or something very dark like Man Bites Dog, there are plenty of opportunities for great moments in this unique genre. The trailer for the Norwegian mockumentary Troll Hunter makes it look like it’s more in line with the last two films mentioned, taking a more horror-oriented path than something that one would expect from someone like Christopher Guest. Even with that said, this trailer actually makes the film look kind of funny (if that is intentional or not I can’t really tell). You can watch it below, courtesy of Twitch (via FirstShowing). Most of the trailer for Kaare Andrews‘ Altitude is pretty standard…until the last 20 seconds. The Canadian plane thriller abruptly turns into “a mid-air monster movie.” The film stars Jessica Lowndes, Julianna Guill, Landon Liboiron and Ryan Donowho. Check out the trailer below from STYD (via First Showing). Read the full story

Now this is a comic adaptation you may not expect. Based on the Posy Simmonds‘ weekly serial in The Guardian, The Queen director Stephen Frears latest film stars Gemma Arterton, Roger Allam, Bill Camp, Dominic Cooper, and Luke Evans. It received mixed reviews at Cannes Film Festival this year, but I like the lighthearted, modest nature of the trailer below. After seeing the stunning Gemma Arterton in Prince of Persia, I have yet to check out her note-worthy performance in The Disappearance of Alice Creed, but it is first on my list. Check out the trailer below via Yahoo and let us know what you think. Read the full story

One of the big Oscar contenders this year is Lost In Translation writer/director Sofia Coppola‘s next film, Somewhere. We debuted the trailer earlier this summer and now we have the first clip. It has quite an interesting cast including Elle Fanning, Stephen Dorff, Michelle Monaghan, Benicio Del Toro and Chris Pontius. It was also nice to spot The Office‘s Ellie Kemper in the first clip below. Check it out via Reelz Channel. Read the full story

Our own Kristen Coates was quite impressed with Katie Aselton‘s The Freebie at Sundance this year. The low-budget drama stars Aselton, who you may recognize from The Puffy Chair as well as Dax Shepard, Bellamy Young, Ross Partridge and Sean Nelson. Check out the trailer for what looks like a straight version of Humpday (which I loved) below via Yahoo. Read the full story

The first trailer for director Danny Boyle‘s next film, 127 Hours, is surprisingly upbeat. The drama tells the true story of Aron Ralston, the mountain climber who had to sever his own arm after he is trapped by a boulder.
The film has two cinematographers: Enrique Chediak and Anthony Dod Mantle. It looks as if one was in charge of the bright, upbeat first section of the film and then, as early test screening reviews mention and the trailer hints it goes to a dark, desperate place. Read the full story
