George Lucas was reported to be shooting reshoots for the new movie he is producing called Red Tails, which is being directed by Anthony Hemingway. His earlier credits include HBO’s The Wire. /Film is reporting that there is a new leader in the race to be the director for Warner Bros. next Superhero film The Flash. The could be direct or Eli Stone and Everwood writer Greg Berlanti. This is an addition to his producer and co-writer credit with Michael Goldenberg. Berlanti was originally attached to direct Green Lantern before Martin Campbell intervened. /Film is reporting that Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds will star in Dreamworks next animated feature The Croods. The film is being co-directed by Lilo and Stitch director Chris Sanders and Space Chimps‘ Kirk DeMicco. Cage’s character is said to be a patriarch named Crug, while Reynolds character is forward thinking outsider. Check out the synopsis:
An old school caveman must lead his family across a volatile prehistoric landscape in search of a new home. The outsized flora and fauna are challenge enough, but the real complication arises when the family is joined by an alarmingly modern caveman whose search for “tomorrow” is at odds with our hero’s reliance on the traditions of yesterday.
The movie was initially being created be Aardman Animation before Dreamworks picked it up. The directors say that the movie will delve into “modern conveniences of social structures.” The movie is set to be released March 30, 2012.

Variety is shedding light on an extremely hush hush project. Universal has bought The Something for mid-six figures. This is a lot seeing as though the only thing they’ve heard is a pitch. The pitch (which must have been damn good) was presented by Rodney Rothman who is the youngest head writer ever for ‘Late Night with David Letterman’. He will serve as writer and producer on the project. His previous credits include being Executive Producer on Forgetting Sarah Marshall, producing Get Him to the Greek, and recently selling his script called Early Bird to Paramount.
