Christopher Nolan Helping With ‘Superman’ Reboot While ‘Batman 3′ Moves Ahead

There has been rumors of Warner Bros trying to get Superman back on the big screen for quite some time now. Deadline is reporting that they have looked to none other than Christopher Nolan, who successfully revived the Batman franchise with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He has a “godfather” role in the development process, making sure all the right decisions are made to bring back Superman. Not only that, he has “hatched an idea” the next Batman film and, as we reported yesterday, his brother Jonah Nolan and David Goyer are currently in the writing process.

The Superman reboot is in it’s very early development stage and WB hasn’t ruled out from previous director Bryan Singer or star Brandon Routh returning. An insider said, “We know what we don’t want to do. But we don’t know what we want to do. We learned a lot from the last movie, and we want to get it right this time.” Head over to Deadline to read a nice recap of the Superman film franchise.

It’s quite clear that Nolan won’t be directing, but it’s nice to see he has a hand in the process. If WB wants a fresh start I’m willing to bet any amount we won’t see Brandon Routh nor Bryan Singer returning. While Superman Returns had some good moments, it’s a film I never have had an urge to revisit.

What do you think about Nolan helping with Superman? What do you want to see in Superman 3.0?
