Twilight star Taylor Lautner has signed on to play Stretch Armstrong…yes, that Stretch Armstrong…the toy that is famous for having extremely extendable arms. If you have a functioning brain this sounds like nothing but utter lamesauce, but Universal is trying to make it sound cool by promising a “3D Superhero Adventure”.

Lautner is notable for one thing and one thing only…his abdominal muscles. While this role won’t be far from his many shirtless scenes in New Moon, it’s still a shame to see potential talent go to waste. Hollywood is trying to propel this guy into a movie star while we watch it peter out in a flaming ball of disaster if he keeps picking projects based off toy lines.

Does Stretch Armstrong have the potential to be anything other than one of the most laughable films of the new decade?
