‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 + 2′ To Be In 3D

With the huge success of Avatar (now the highest grossing movie of all time, by the way), Warner Brothers has made the huge announcement that not only will the previously rumored 3D conversion for Clash of the Titans be happening, but now the final installments of the Harry Potter series, Deathly Hallows Part I and II, will also be in 3D. This comes via THR’s Heat Vision blog, and is expected to officially be announced by the end of the week. They also report Clash of the Titans has been pushed back a week to April 2nd.

According to the same article, the conversion process is only around five million dollars for each film, and considering raised ticket prices, is likely a smart investment on their part. There’s also an extra five million for the price of glasses. More news should be coming in the next week, so stay tuned here for more updates when they come in.

What do you think of The Deathly Hallows being converted to 3D?

What?! No- Avatar in 3D was awful- storylines and everything! Was not in the least impressed by the 3D- and felt robbed having to pay a higher ticket price for a crappy story! The Harry Potter series is amazing- Jk Rowling truly wrote a superb story and created this fanatastic world, and I personally feel and think that the 3D will ruin the phenomenal story which I cannot wait to see unfold on the screens. I will definitely be watching it in 2d- and for the price of the 3D ticket, I will instead ues the money to pay for the later dvd released, also in 2D. Gosh- how much are we the public going to let commercial success ruin creativity, originality and artisitic genious in its purest form?! Just to reinforce, after seeing Avatar (3D) and seeing the pretty interesting and different blue giants, aliens or whatever they were called- I was perfectly and positively bored out of my mind- in my opinion James Cameron got a little too obsessed with his 3D effect- the world did not impress me, I need a little more creativity and conflict in a story to give it any value or worth.

great. Deathly Hallows has more action sequences than Half-blood prince did, so there could be some good lengthy 3d scenes. I'm not sure whether the final battle in part 2 should be in 3d though, i think if it's not done superbly it could ruin it a bit; we have high expectations now after Avatar.
