More updates regarding James Cameron’s Avatar are flying in. The first is a featurette from the Fox Movie Channel that highlights how Cameron is able to create a scene from the film with this new technology. If you watch one video related to Avatar, I hope it is this one. Check it out below (or on YouTube), followed by many other updates.
Even if you vehemently despise the idea of Avatar I’d be hard pressed to find anyone not excited about this technology and what it means for movie making. A new photo and an international poster have been released as well. Check them both out below an I encourage you to click the photo to see the extreme detail.

Over at the NeoGAF forums (via CaptainClean at IMDB boards) I came across some scanned images of what the futuristic earth looks like (most likely concept art). Check them by clicking the links (as they could be considering spoilers. One, Two, Three, and Four. Blade Runner anyone? Also if you are desperately interested in Na’vi sex life, look no further.

Market Saw also confirmed that WETA in Wellington have finished their last remaining shots of the film. The site also found a Total Film interview with lead Sam Worthington confirming the actors are signed on for a trilogy. Check out he quote below:
You work 18-hour days. I was on it for 14 months. Jim’s (Cameron) still editing. We’ll still be filming it up to the day it’s released — probably after the movie comes out, knowing Jim! That commitment is what makes him the man he is. It’s life or death. It’s war. That’s how he approaches movies… “We’re signed for a trilogy. But I think I’ll be 94 by the time it finishes, to be honest. I know Jim’s got some ideas in his big head.”
All this trilogy talk depends on the success of the film, which LA Times reports is tracking lower than Sherlock Holmes and even Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Sqeakquel is tracking higher among young girls. Not good my friends.
Lastly, the film has officially been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for intense epic battle sequences and warfare, sensuality, language and some smoking.
Avatar hits theaters December 18th.
