It's too bad Astro Boy was an underperformer at the box office, because it was really a great little movie. It was sheer fun, plus it had some very touching moments and an uplifting message. The action scenes were exciting and accomplished, the design of the film was beautiful, and the characters had great visual appeal. (Not the same could be said for the obnoxious character design in Monsters Vs. Aliens; even the buxom blonde was ugly!) Astro Boy deserved more praise and attention than it got. I think it's the Iron Giant of our time.
